The Towns of Winter Park, Fraser, Granby, and Grand County have approved the formation of a new Regional Housing Authority in the Fraser River Valley of Colorado. The new housing authority, named the Fraser River Valley Housing Partnership (FRVHP), was formed to address regional workforce housing shortages. The primary role of the Fraser River Valley Housing Partnership will be to facilitate the development of workforce housing units. In addition, the Housing Partnership will manage housing initiatives, developments, and programs to benefit year-round residents. The newly formed FRVHP is seeking its first Executive Director to lead this effort.
There is a shortage of long-term rental and homeownership opportunities in the Fraser River Valley for year-round residents. This issue has become a community crisis that is eroding quality of life and limiting the ability to have thriving businesses and attract and retain top-notch educators, police officers, firefighters, emergency responders, and other critical members of the Fraser River Valley workforce.
