Located on the southern edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area, the City of Venus offers a City Administrator an opportunity to provide mentorship and guidance to a community at a critical crossroads in their history. The City Council sees the need for comprehensive long-range planning in order to prepare the necessary infrastructure for future development and seeks a growth minded, innovative leader to improve communication and bring stability to the community.
The City of Venus is on the eastern edge of Johnson County, directly south of Dallas with a rapidly increasing population of over 6,700 as the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex moves south. While Venus is located mostly in Johnson County, there are portions that reach into Ellis County. The City of Venus manages their own water, wastewater, and contracts solid waste services. The City also provides public safety services and code enforcement in addition to traditional administrative services. The City has a staff of approximately 53 employees, operates on a general fund budget of $6.5 million and an additional $4.6 million in utility enterprise funds.
